Giant Georgian Cushion
A large metre square cushion using the fragments of a Georgian patchwork quilt. Dimensions: 100cm x 100cm
I was given this skeleton of a patchwork quilt, thought to be dated from the 1770’s which I was keen to resurrect and make into a new artwork. To repair the fragile pieces I used copious amounts of intricate hand embroidery and backed it onto contrasting black silk.
Materials: Antique patchwork remnant, silk, cotton embroidery thread.
